MEGAN KATHAN

Hello there!

 

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have to offer! I'm Megan Kathan, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Minnesota State University, Manakto with a degree in Academic and Behavior Strategies. This degree provides me with the opportunity to work as a special education teacher for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Within my college experience, I've worked with elementary, middle, and high school students with federal classifications of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Other Health Impairments, and Specific Learning Disabilities. Each of the classrooms I joined made me feel at home and happy.

 

My background is a bit different than most first year teachers. I graduated high school in 2010 with the goal of becoming a big-shot in the world of business and marketing. Then, half-way through my freshman year of college I welcomed my son into the world with my husband. This changed my life and made me more determined to make big bucks!  I continued to work towards a business and marketing degree until 2013; it was then I had my very own epiphany that I wanted to be a teacher. I gave up the idea of making big bucks and now I'm in it to help every student fall in love with learning.

 

All that being said, I have experience in working different jobs. I've done everything from sales to supervising. I'm very technology savvy; I have advanced training in Microsoft Office and Google Applications, I'm proficient in Adobe programs and web design, and I am quick to learn about new educational technology.

 

I'm extremely excited to find my first teaching job, meet my new school family, and continue learning and growing as a teacher.
